Eighteen experiments. Not eighteen startups wearing a trench coat.
A dated series of bounded interface and product experiments. Each begins with one problem, one interaction, and one honest line between what is real and what is simulated.
Margins, one of the Daily Concept Studio experiments: a reading practice that keeps the thought that caught you and asks a question of it.On screenScreen capture of the running software. Corey D.M. Johnson. Unmodified beyond resampling: no crop, no colour grade, no compositing.
What I made
Eighteen dated experiments, of which six to eight are featured — Margins, Timeweave, Counterweight, Signalproof, Paceprint, Refrain/Riff, and Fieldguide are the strongest.
Why it’s one thing
Presenting eighteen experiments as eighteen ventures would be dishonest about what they are. They’re a practice, so they’re exhibited as a practice.
Where it is now
A closed series, exhibited chronologically.
A few more things worth seeing
Timeweave, a camera experiment that holds a moment a little longer by stitching narrow slices of what it sees.On screenScreen capture of the running software. Corey D.M. Johnson. Unmodified beyond resampling: no crop, no colour grade, no compositing.
Counterweight, which asks you to give each side of a decision its best case before it weighs them.On screenScreen capture of the running software. Corey D.M. Johnson. Unmodified beyond resampling: no crop, no colour grade, no compositing.
Fieldguide, which reads only the names, sizes and dates of a folder you choose and offers a map of the project it thinks you inherited. On screenScreen capture of the running software. Corey D.M. Johnson. Unmodified beyond resampling: no crop, no colour grade, no compositing.
